We have a requirement where the form contains Rich text input and user can fill

We have a requirement where the form contains Rich text input and user can fill in data with Bullets or format the entire text with Bold, Italics etc. This data we have to populate in word (Docx) using Create Doc from template smart service.
However, the smart service accepts only text. Any html tags for line break, para etc or bullets are not handled. Apart from identifying and converting such tags, is there any smart way to work around this?...

We also had this requirement. We decided it is not worth it. I convert linebreaks from the non-rich-text inputs to "<w:br />". This allows the users to do basic formatting using hyphens and linebreaks.
Identification of HTML tags is very hard as the HTML structure from the rich text input is not very clean.
