If I expose a process model as a service, can I also use the same process model

If I expose a process model as a service, can I also use the same process model as an action in an application? I plan to access the same process model via web service or through action in tempo.
Anyone see an issue with this approach?

We have used it just by calling the wsdl of that process exposed as a web service but I believe it's not recommended.

Couldn't that process just be used as a sub process instead?
