#MOBILE,
Assume a scenario of both requestor and approver are using native mobile app.
Can Appian native app latest one as of Q42015 show push notification similar to Twitter or linked or whatzapp etc.
Also not all tasks needed to be push notification, developer has the ability to tell only a task he needs to be push notification.

As far as I know, Appian mobile app does not support push notification.

An alternative approach could be to use email notifications which can be configured for many events. The users can then receive a notification via there email when the task is received etc. More info here: forum.appian.com/.../Notifications.html
