If you are creating a CSV document take a look at the example I attached here
forum.appian.com/.../4808
it uses the joinarray() function to split the data and create a file that you can read in Excel. The example is in the Attachments section (Create CSV From Template.zip)
There also some components that will allow you to export to Excel. Take a look at all of them under the "Shared Components" section (
forum.appian.com/.../components)-
Smart Services - View All Smart Services and search with your browser (CTRL + F) for the word Excel.

Thanks Eduardo. My goal is to splitting and manage a text array and put every array elements in a variable. I will read your suggestion and also Appian Documentation... thanks a lot for the information
