Does the "business day" that can be defined have any impact to a workf

Does the "business day" that can be defined have any impact to a workflow if a task has a due date/time of end of day? In other words, if the set the day to 9:00-5:00, but the due date/time of a task is 11:59 pm, would a user be marked "late" if they complete the task after 5:00 pm?
