How is the process model designed? Is there a start form or does it chain to a user input task? I think you implemented the second one. Then this is the expected behaviour. A task assigned in a active process is visible on the tasks tab.

Hi,
Stefanh is right, You might have used input task.
If you want user input task only and you don't want to create task in task tab, make it as Quick Task

Once a user input task is generated it must be completed by user to complete it and proceed the flow. If you do not want the user to trigger the process, its better to have start form for the process. Other option can be is to create an exception on user input task with timer of 1 minute which will automatically complete the task.
