Process
Process fails in the node "Write To data store entity".

When entering exactly 255 characters for a field which has been configured in the sql server too as 255 characters the smart service "Write to data store entity" fails giving the error in log as :
Caused by: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Operation failed. The index entry of length 1044 bytes for the index 'UC_Data' exceeds the maximum length of 900 bytes.
Any help on this would be of great help.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Abishek, I believe you will have to increase the field size in DB or you should restrict the user from entering morethan 255 characters in the field.

the validation is there for 255 characters. It works fine for 254 characters. I guess its because of the (0,255) definition which gives 254 characters . Still not yet confirmed. But there is a validation for 255 characters

We have seen similar issue when the information is copied as there are some special characters. When looking at the Appian side the length is coming different and when copy same content and copy to SQL editor the length is shown differently.

You might want to refer to the link below; what you're seeing isn't a problem with appian, but with an index on one of the table's fields.
