Hi, I would like to use toXML() to convert an CDT. I used this function with an other CDT and it worked fine, but with this:

[RequestNumber=7242, AreaDest=BR, BusinessUnit=Car, light truck and recreational, Description=, MngNote=, Plant=TEST1, PlantID=46, Process=TRAD, RequestedDate=05/06/2013, Requestor=xxx001, StatusA=2, StatusB=, StatusC=, StatusD=, StatusE=, StatusEPartial=, StatusF=, StatusG=, StatusH=, StatusHPartial=, StatusI=, TDName=, DevName=, DevNote=, DevGroup=, ManagerName=, ManagerAppDate=]

I have an incorrect result:

I can see n3679 value in each tag. why?

As the line

<n3679:MouldRequestData xmlns:n3679="www.pirelli.com/.../appian">

says, this is the XML namespace. This should not bring you in any trouble as namespacing is a XML standard.

Thanks for your answer shelzle, I know namespacing is an XML standard, what I don't understand is why I'm seeing the "n3679" in each tag, instead of seeing it only in the namespace at the beginning of the XML code.

Have a look at

www.w3schools.com/.../xml_namespaces.asp

In your XML snippet it would not be necessary to define the namespace for each element. But I think there is a namespace defined in the CDT so the XML generator uses this in the XML. Maybe the XSD of the other CDT does not contain a namespace or one of that the XML generator thinks is not needen in the XML.

no, both cointain namespace.

yes, when I try to convert XML into CDT (with torecord()) it fail.
the only difference is that the first is mapped on DB; and the other one isn't.

Try to open a support case and append the app server logfile that contains the detailed error message.

In the toxml() function the last parameter is the namespace.Try leaving the last paramater empty if you do not want a namespace. Eg:toxml(pv!yourCDT,True(),"TagName","")
