Need to write/update multiple rows to db at one go

Hello All,
There is scenario, where I need to parse an excel and need to push rows to db table. If I pass multiple CDT to write to db smart service it will solve the purpose, I would like to know number of DB connections that are going to get opened in this case, will it be only one or will equal to number of entries in cdt ?

It will be done in a single DB connection

I agree with Chetany, only one DB connection will be opened and will be used for all the transactions on the node.

Thanks Chetan and Martin for your inputs.
Another thing will this approach be scalable or should other approaches like stored procedure be considered ? there could be case where I need to insert 500 rows.
