Is there any way to export a chart as image in a word template file?
Something like using a placeholder for the image and then replace it with a graph/pie chart?

Where would the chart come from? Would the image size be known?
I can't help with respect to generating the chart, but if you already have a way to get it as an image file, then you can use a template .docx with a same-size image already inserted, and use the ZIP utilities plug-in to replace the image file itself inside the .docx (which is actually a ZIP package). Just note that the size has to be the same or similar; if the new image has a different aspect ratio, it will be squished to fit the aspect ratio of the original image.
This could help, actually, but just if there's a way to get images from chart.
I got a report page with dynamically loaded data and need to put the chart in the docx file.

No way that I know of - there may be plug-ins available that I don't know about, or new stuff in the works - otherwise I believe the official answer would be "feel free to create a plug-in to do this".
