Why can't I open the task from the process dashboard or the task report?

We set the limit of characters for the Task Display to 500 characters. When trying to open a task having a display name of 496 characters from the process dashboard or the task report, the task will not open. However, I can open the task when I click on the link in the task alert or when I click on the task in Tempo. Why can't I open the task from the process dashboard or the task report?...

Remember that internally this is creating a link so those characters to terminate the <a> tag also count. You may want to make this limit a little bigger if you want to support 500 characters without the tags
