I'm trying to convert completion() in a portal report from interval to seconds

I'm trying to convert completion() in a portal report from interval to seconds but the intervals are variable, i.e if duration is in days shows as 1 day 55 mins, or in secs 3.217 seconds. I would like to get all times in seconds and milliseconds.
