Business sees the statistical data on a report and they are expecting to do an action in the report.

You can do that! See function a!startProcess(). Question is: Should you do it? As always, it depends. What kind of action would you implement? Is this the only way to initiate this action or is it available on the actions tab as well? Is the action related to a record, then it should be a related action.

In terms of user experience there is no easy answer. But in general, actions "should" go to actions tab or related actions.

Thanks all. There are two reports that we have showing list of work with timescal. Since manager has to allocate the work in bulk based on time scale and all information related are present in same page, business doesn't want to go and access other tab just for updating to whom it should be assigned.

Sounds like a reasonable use case for a task report.
