Date and time not getting populated in a proper format in spreadsheet

Am using export to excel plugin - getdatasubsetdownloadlinkfromrule to export report data into excel. I am facing issue with incorrect date time stamp after exporting the data into excel. For ex: In excel the date and time is getting populated as 11/30/2016 05:16 text. When I double click on this and release it is getting changed to proper format. PFA the screenshots. Any suggestions to resolve this issue.

The problem is that the plugin does not know how to tell Excel which data type a cell has. If you really need that, have a look at an older post from me. forum.appian.com/.../e-68469
