Connect Appian RPA Agent from different network.

Hello there, I am currently working on a network that does not have access to Appian Cloud (Private Network). There are multiple processes I have identified to automate using Appian RPA. I was able to install agents in my private network machine but I am unable to establish a connection between the agent and RPA server. Please let me know if anyone had faced a similar issue.

Please let me know the resolution steps to attain the connection.

Many thanks.

  • The Agent needs an Internet connection to communicate with the server to interact with the robotic process from the console, since it is essential that there is a connection between them.

Due to this requirement, and you are working on a private network,  you have to setup firewall rules for Internet access. For doing this, one path could be:

    • use  NAT (Network Address Translation) to protect access to services hosted on the Internet from private networks
    • Identify Internet services. (Port 443 https)
    • create firewall rules.
