In the Create the Maven Project section, what do we need to do exactly in step 1?
It is not clear to me what is needed to be done in step1

When you create a new robot, a zip file gets downloaded, that is the Maven project already created for you!
Can you walk me through how this connects with Step 2 in that specific url as well? I am a bit confused.

Have you tried Smart service to execute robotic process in process model, then you don't need all these steps to have synchronous communication between process model and your RPA bot. That smart service could catch the status , execution id and even RPA variables also just you need to configure it properly.
