On a process instance dashboard within a web content with dynamic data channel, I am unable to use the "onClick" attribute of the HTML href tag. What appears to happen is that the page refreshes and redirects me to the first tab of the application. How can I enable the onClick functionality to be used through a URL link on a process instance dashboard? I am trying to have a clickable link to a quick task that when clicked the quick task pops out into a new window, and the pop up window self closes on submit of that quick task....

the onclick event in JS code is explicitly ignored for execution as per our security policies. This is to protect against XSS and other potential security considerations.
Have you tried using the "Better Links to Quicktasks" plugin expression? I believe there is an option that opens the Quick Task in a new window. It should close itself after.
