yes it is default behavior of appian.

when click on submit button it validate the required fields. if it is null it throw an error.

If you want to avoid this validation, just simple place Skipvalidation:true, in the button .

it will never validate the validations.

if i use Skipvalidation:true it will not validate .but am having mandatory fields need to be validate once i submit .if i add new row it should not validate for new row

In appian this is default behavior, you cant change,
in your requirement you have to validate the required fields, in that case , it will show the validation message when user click the submit button.

one solution,
when user click add row link ,a new row will come, suppose user dont want to submit the row.

just place one more button called "Cancel", and place skipvalidation:true then it close the window.

Try using a!validationMessage() instead of required field. It should solve your problem

Try by using a!validationMessage(validateAfter:"SUBMIT") in the grid layout validations, with necessary message , we can define validation group also and the same validation group we have to define for submit button, without validation group also it will work fine, if no validation group given in submit button as well grid layout . and remove the required parameter from the fields .Hope it will work.

you can user validate message and do validation after submit if it not required before u submit form
