On drop down values selection, grid should be displayed accordingly

Hello, the easiest way is, upon selection in the drop-down save the data into a variable and take a gridlayout component in with scope and display it. As the grid is in with it will get refreshed for each change in the drop-down value.

Use the gridlayout component inside a with () and use the showWhen: when the dropdown value <> null.. This will achieve the above scenario :)

when you are selecting a component in the dropdown, the choiceValues are getting saved in a rule input or a local variable. Use that saved value in the showWhen parameter of your gridLayout() to display the editable grid on selection of a drop down element.

It will automatically update the data of grid on the basis of selection.

Extract the value of grid data varibale in the save into of dropdown like this:

when you refresh the dropdown than saveinto of it will run and editable grid data will refresh but at the same time you are updating in editable grid than that data will loose you have to append that data also in different local variable.

For doing this,

you already create expression/rules for fetching the data from db based on the dropdown value .

so, you can place the dropdown in the with() , once value is changed in the dropdown just pass that value to rule

using this way, grid will load dynamically for every value selection in the dropdown.

Hi,

Just save selected dropdown value in local variable or rule input as per your use case.

If you are using latest versions of Appian then just use showWhen property of grid component to configure condition. like show grid only when dropdown value is not null.

If you are using older version then use if condition to check dropdown value to show grid component.
