Reliability issues in Appian with lengthy & big forms
We have been constantly facing issues while working with lengthy forms having large amount of data.
First problem is related to their rendering. It takes large amount of time to render complete form in front of user which gives impression of error to him.
Second issue we're facing is while filling up and submitting these forms. Sometimes after filling up the form and hitting Submit nothing happens (form hangs) or close abruptly. As a result all the work done in filling up the forms is wasted.
Just want to know are there any other fellow users who've come across these issues and can suggest reasons and workaround for such problems.
Many Thanks in advance....

AFAIK best practices recommend to not have such bit forms. But not because of technical restrictions but more because it is hard to handle them for the users. Maybe you can break it down into a wizard with multiple steps.

1 As suggested by Stefan, break down large forms into smaller ones and use activity chaining
2. Configure the process design in such a way that only relevant details of the system are displayed to the user based on selection. For e.g. if you have an insurance form, then if the user selects, say 'car insurance', only show car insurance related content. You can do this by using conditional display logic (Show when condition is met on form components) or using a gateway logic to related forms.
