How to fix error: Could not cast from User to Users - when there is only one Appian data type called "Users"?

The code is below. the Requestor field below where the value is being saved into is a Users type. I tried to cast explicitly to Users too and got same error. Attached screenshot of error message.

Is NSARequest of type CDT(multiple)?

May I know what's the typeof ri!NSARequest.Requestor and is that single or multiple?

if ri!NSARequest is mulitple or ri!NSARequest.Requestor then such error may occur.
Please confirm if non of them is of type multiple.

NSRequest is CDT which is not multiple. Requestor under it is Users type and again not multiple. The Users data type is Appian system data type. There is no User singular form data type. But still it complaints

I can see your cdt is multiple type in screen shot but it should not be the problem. also which version you are using as that issue is not in 17.2 version.
To resolve this better use "Requestor" type as text instead of user, this may help you.

yeah changed it to Text type though. But client preference is User type. How did you identify that it is multiple type? what field from the screenshot helped to understand it is multiple type? is it possible to change it to single? i already set the max selections to 1. to make sure only one user is configured always for that field. It is 18.2 version.
