How to export selected rows in a gridField to a xls file and download it within a interface?

Please try the below.

Set the "Starting Cell" position as "A2"(second row).

Custom Cell Positions can be set as "A1", "B1", etc.

Sorry for opening old discussion.

We are on 20.1 and exporting data using export data store entity to excel function.

Want to format data while exporting to excel.e.g in DB have status field where we store key STA_1 and values are in reference table. Now while exporting i want value of key in excel.

Is it possible with this funcrion . When tried customCellValues and position , it just change headers in excel sheet.

This smart service will export the data which is present in your entity to the excel, manipulation is not possible. If there are any manipulations we need to do it in view and refer that cdt. In your scenario it should work.

View was my second choice of solution because it need other calculations. Anyways now have to go with view.

So far my experience is really bad with this latest export funtion , it does not work in many scenario. Hopefully Appian will update this soon.
