I have section with multiple column layouts, date fields and drop down fields. When I click on icon to non collapse the section (where few fields are required fields) and click on submit button it allows me to submit and navigate to next page. Expected is since we have validations on fields even though we non collapse the section it should throw error.
Are you using standard settings for collapsing of sections, and for validations? Can you confirm that the validations work properly when the section isn't collapsed? Also just to clarify, do you mean something special when you say "non collapse"? For instance, I can't tell whether you actually mean "un-collapse" or whether you're referring to a section being non-collapsible.
Firstly thanks for looking into my query, No I'm not using standard sittings.
validations works good when it's collapsed. Yes I referred as section being non-collapsible and failing to field validations.
when you are facing this kind of issues, instead of using section collapse and non-collapse property, you can define your own code .. I mean, use richtextimage for hide/show based on that you can validate your components.
Hope it will help you
In order for any of us to help you, you will probably need to post a code snippet - either your current code, or a simplified version (where you can leave out any customer-specific info) which demonstrates your issue. Please use the "Insert -> Code" feature here to preserve formatting as well as keeping your comment's on-page size friendlier.
We have implemented in different way as work around. Thanks for your time.
If you create a custom way of collapsing layouts. (with If-Else conditions etc) They are not evaluated while checking validation.
If you have implemented using isCollapsible parameter of the layout then the validation will be displayed.
Please apply high level form validations that should work. We have same scenario where multiple sections out there and we have done consolidated validations on form level and display section wise details in the bottom.
