Hi Forum
I asked this question a couple of weeks ago with no reply, hopefully someone can help me out this time
On a standard grid, is there a maximum amount of rows that a grid can handle on a form? I imagined that the grids have the same capability as reports or paging grids with handling numerous records (ie being able to select different pages of the report), but this is not the case for standard grids. We have the issue of a user not seeing all records in the grid with about 30 contacts in total and only about 20 being shown on the form. Any help would be greatly appreciated

what is the source of the data that's populating the grid? Is it from a query rule/paging info that you are parsing or a standard set of pv! of type multiple or report?
The first place I'd check is the data source. Reports have no of rows to return set. Check that as well to make sure its not restricted if that's your source.

Hi Sathya, thank you for your reply. The source is from a query rule which then populates into a pv! of type multiple, and then I use this pv! for the default value of the grid.

is your query rule taking a paging-info as a parameter which might possibly be restricting the no of records returned?
Can you monitor the return of the query rule to verify if it has all the records returned or just the first 20?

My query rule is pulling straight from a SQL database, no paging info included.
I have investigated the returned results and only the first 10 are passing from the query to those pv!'s. It's great that I've figured out that the grid isn't the problem but my query must be at fault. Thanks Sathya

So you are not using Query Rules but you are using Query Database smart service to execute your SQL. In that case, the smart service has a default cap on the no of records returned to 10. You can configure this in your custom.properties file. Your original message said that you were able to see 20. Are you seeing 10 or 20?

Sorry for being unclear Sathya. I am only seeing 10 entries, so it most likely is a cap in the custom.properties file. And yes I got confused between a Query Rule and a Query Database smart service. Should I try using a query rule to default into the grid instead of using the Query Database smart service?
