How to customize a helpTooltip for any component

Question

Hi, 
 I have a requirement to display a helpTooltip for a few of the controls like below 
 "Upload any documents of type 
 : internal / external 
 : Draft / Final 
 " 
 If I place this text in the helpTooltip, everything is appearing in one row. I want the message to be displayed as is. 
 
 Can anyone suggest on this?

Not possible with the built in tooltip.

Not possible to put line breaks in the hover text AFAIK but you could look into other solutions: 
 
 Build a component with a field + rich text component which mimics the instructions attribute of a field (greyed out text below the field) 
 A show/hide help dynamic link which shows an alert banner over the field - docs.appian.com/.../alert-banners.html

Hi Hari, There is no way you can customize helpTooltip for the field. Alternatively , you can use richTextDisplayField function in combination with icon and text to achieve your goal. Please go through below thread which talks about similar use case,

Interestingly, and without warning (not sure how long this may have been true for now, or if it's brand new with 24.4), it's now possible to do this in tooltip fields of various sorts. And, weirdly, while not in button confirmation messages, it does seem to work in button confirmation header (:scratches head:).
