I exported a form where the labels are in chinese, but when i imported the form it shows characters as symbols and such as if there was an encoding issue. OS is ubuntu 12 or 13 and OS locale is en_us utf8 and also the exported form is utf8 encoded. I am confused...

To confirm, if you export and import the same form in your 6.7.1 environment, the form displays correctly?
Is the same behavior occurring across all browsers?

A chinese form exported in older versions is ok in older versions or 7.3 and 7.4 but a chinese form exported in 7.3 and 7.4 is not ok if imported on any older version or the very same version where it was exported. Chinese characters in reports also have the same problem if exported. I guess the problem could be some sort of encoding used by Appian 7.3 and 7.4

I have identified the issue and I have reported it to the product team. Your reference number is AN-53915.

As Aleksi said, instead of exporting and importing just the form, add to an application the process model that contains the form, and export the application, then import the application in the desired environment. I tried it in 7.3, 7.4 and 7.5 and it worked.

Thanks Cesar but thats not a solution. Are you suggesting that for every user input task that needs to import a form? Thats not practical, thanks anyways. Appian have taken the note and I am looking forward to a permanent fix in a hotfix hopefully soon.
