Is it possible to make the line chart smooth, meaning without the data point dots.

The OOTB line charts do not support that. There is a Google Charts plugin you could check.

In general I agree with others, but one caveat is that the line will show without data points if there is enough data in the chart, so very dense charts will show with a smooth line.
