When a form is assigned directly to a specific user of assigned to a user process variable i can select any option of the four available in the -Set re-assignment privileges for assignees-. But, when a rule decides the assignee(group or user) besides the fact that i can choose either of the four it doesn't seem to keep that option and it always resets to the last one (Can reassign the task to anyone)

This may happen if you pass the user or group name directly into the rule. But if you save the user or group name into a process variable and pass the process variable into the rule, then the reassignment option seems to be saved.
