Has an enhancement request been logged to have the ability to control the button

Has an enhancement request been logged to have the ability to control the button text for a form that is activity chained? I'm only doing activity chaining for the purposes of data validation after a form has been submitted, per what appears to be Appian best practices, and the only time a "next" form will appear is if the validation fails, but in cases where it doesn't, the existence of the wording "Next" gives the user the impression that something else will come after this, which in most cases, will not be true....

If you manually change the label of the button from the default of "Submit" to something else - you should see that label and not "Next." For example, try changing the label to "Save"

Thanks, Owen. For the sake of UX consistency across forms and applications, however, it would be ideal to be able to have the button still read "Submit."

If you type "Submit " (with a space after it) into the Label field, the button will remain as Submit and not change to Next.

Labeling the button as "Submit ", with a space included in it, would make you see button displayed as Submit, even if it is activity chained.

That's a really good idea about the extra space in Submit.

Consider using a constant, "Submit" might go out of fashion some day....
