Any method to put field length validation in input form for mobile enabled?

Any method to put field length validation in input form for mobile enabled?
On an input form, be default Appian accepts 1,000 characters for a text field. But the user required to limit it to be 200 characters. We could add a javascript to check the field length to 200. However, once we use the javascript for data validation, the form cannot be mobile enabled?! Is there any workaround. Thanks....
