Setting Column Width in a Grid

I have a a!gridField of Notes, with columns of note text, note uploader, date & time, etc. If the review Note is overly long, the grid column width extends out to compensate for the long text with a horizontal scroll bar instead of the text wrapping around. Is there any way I can force the text to wrap around instead of extending, set column widths to force text wrapping, or any other solution around this (not including limiting the character length on the text field)?

@alexandera I don't think what you have been asking for is configurable at the moment. It might be worth opting for the suggestion made by @rodgraham provided if you have minimal fields to show up, minimal formatting and minimal dataset.
