Slow performance noticed by end users
brianp886
On 11/29 we've had several users complaining of slow performance when using the application. People are seeing slowness when authenticating, moving between elements, and uploading photos. Some users were still experiencing slowness on 11/30. Performance degradation is not limited to a specific region of the country but the majority of the users were in the Northeast portion of the US and others were in the Central/Rocky Mountain region of the US.
Was there any sort of network outage or other factors that may have contributed to this performance degradation? We are looking to get some sort of explanation so we can find the root cause of why this event happened.

There are lots of things to look at. Some might be
1. Server health
2. Number of active instances
3. Footprint of active instances (meaning how much data in pvs, steps, etc)
4. Any previous abnormal shutdowns
5. Latest hotfixes applied
Hope one of these help.

There were reported internet degradation for the US north, north east for that time mentioned by other Customers, if the issue subsisted after, it may just be temporarily network interruption.
Alternatively, if the slowness is still present, I recommend you run the Appian Health Check, which will provide a detailed report of the overall health and performance of the environment, as well as any areas of concern., find out more at:
