Expendable text Grid Column on Portal fom

Hi All,
We are on 7.5. We are experiencing an issue on one of our portal forms. There is a Grid Column for comments which is of Text Type. In our Dev envronment, when we enter large text into the field, it expands automatically and we can see all the text that we have entered. But In Pilot, the field remains small & it does not expand. Attached is the snapshot for comparison. You can see that field on left one is not expanded but on the right one is expanded. Also, there is little "X" shows on field on left but not on field in right. Can any one guide what can be the issue?
Thanks

As far as I know, that is expected behavior of those components in Portal. The text field gets expanded when you enter some text (It will try to fit to the text that you enter) and when you configure some text to it it will fit to the column (the default behavior of fit to cell of a table in Word). Also, when the text field is on focus, I mean if you click on the text field when it contains some text you will be able to see that cross mark. This comes with the browser Internet Explorer by default. Unfortunately, we may not able to tweak any of this behaviors.
