Legacy Forms Designer

I think you should migrate to SAIL forms now because going forward i do not think they will support Forms Designer but lets see what other practitioners say about this.

I asked this question because I saw this in the new documentation
"If this process model was created before 17.1, ensure that a legacy forms designer form is not being used as a start form. If it is, replace it with an equivalent SAIL form."

Thanks - this information helps. I would still like to hear from Appian as to whether or not the Forms Designer will continue to be available from IE for existing forms created with it. In the meantime, it makes sense to update...

judym598 Yeah i understand your point completely and i think according to documentation you should change the code for your start form to SAIL code to avoid any future errors.

Thanks for the question! Also, I'm glad to hear that you're planning on upgrading to 17.1 soon. The forms designer was deprecated in 16.3 (forum.appian.com/.../Appian_Release_Notes.html

To answer your questions specifically, yes the forms designer will continue for existing forms created with it (in IE). However, new forms should be created using SAIL forms. The new interface designer integration to the process modeler should help a lot (docs.appian.com/.../Appian_Release_Notes.html.

The page that you brought up that has the forms designer reference should be viewed in the context of Application Design in Tempo. If someone want to use a start form while kicking off a related action from a record, they should be using a SAIL form for their start form.
