Appian will be removing support for TLS 1.1 from Appian Cloud on March 27, 2020.
In 2018, Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Mozilla all announced their intentions to deprecate Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0 and 1.1 support from their web browsers in early 2020. After March, Appian Cloud customers will be required to use TLS 1.2 and above for all communications with their Appian Cloud sites.
New Appian Cloud sites launched after January 15, 2020 will have TLS 1.1 disabled by default, regardless of Appian version.
Any services or integrations that use TLS 1.1 or below will no longer work after the change.
Customers can test their browser TLS 1.2 compatibility by navigating to this Appian Cloud test site, which has TLS 1.1 disabled: https://tlstest.appiancloud.com. If the login page of this site is visible, then the browser supports TLS 1.2 or above.
Review all Appian applications for any connections or integrations that utilize TLS 1.1 and update to TLS 1.2 or above.
This article applies to all versions of Appian Cloud.
