KB-1066 "An unrecoverable error was encountered while processing your request" error thrown when accessing /design and /admin

Symptoms

When using a web server, trying to access either /design or /admin returns the following error:

An unrecoverable error was encountered while processing your request. To prevent losing your work, copy the expression below before reloading your browser.

Cause

The value of conf.suite.SERVER_AND_PORT in custom.properties located in <APPIAN_HOME>/ear/suite.ear/conf does not exactly match the URL used to access Appian.

Action

Modify the value of conf.suite.SERVER_AND_PORT so that it matches exactly the URL used to access Appian.

Note: When using a web server with port 80 or 443, the suffixes :80 and :443 should not be included.
