KB-1138 "Quick App Not Created" error thrown when trying to create a Quick App using a data source configured in the Admin Console

This issue has been resolved in an Appian hotfix/new Appian version. Please apply the latest hotfix to your Appian installation or upgrade to the latest version of Appian.

Symptoms

Users are unable to create Quick Apps using a datasource created in the Admin Console. The following error is shown in the browser at the end of the Quick Apps Wizard:

Quick App Not Created

Oops! Something went wrong and we couldn't create your Quick App. Nothing has currently been created. You can try to create your Quick App again, but if it continues failing please contact a system administrator.

At the time the above error occurs, the following stack trace is printed in the application server log:

Cause

This issue has been addressed via AN-69713 in the following hotfixes/versions:

  • Appian 16.2 Hotfix Package A
  • Appian 16.3

Action

Apply the latest hotfix to your Appian installation or upgrade to the latest version of Appian.

Workaround

To work around the issue, create a data source using the steps in Configuring Relational Databases and use that data source for the Quick App.
