KB-1195 Pink box error thrown after changing data type of a form field in a Quick App

Symptoms

Updating the data type of a form field in a Quick App causes an error in the Quick Apps Designer:

An Error Has Occurred

Expression evaluation error at function a!quickApps_quickAppManagement_view: An error occurred while executing a save: Expression evaluation error :

Users are unable to edit or delete the Quick App from that point on.

Cause

This issue has been addressed via AN-70583 in the following hotfixes/versions:

• Appian 16.2 Hotfix Package B
• Appian 16.3

Action

Apply the latest hotfix to your Appian installation or upgrade to the latest version of Appian.

Note: The fix will correct the issue for any new Quick App created after applying, but it will not fix any existing Quick Apps. If any existing Quick Apps are broken, please create a support case with Appian Technical Support for further assistance.
