The Health Check process may appear to be 'hanging' or taking a very long time without completing but does not appear to fail.
The following error can be seen in the application server log:
ERROR com.appian.integration.httpclient.smartnode.HttpFileUploadSmartNode - ConnectorRuntimeException [title=Error calling HTTP File Upload, com.appian.integration.core.exception.ConnectorRuntimeException: org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException: Connect to forum.appian.com:443 [forum.appian.com/XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX, forum.appian.com/XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] failed: Connection refused]
Appian Health Check requires a connection to Forum (https://forum.appian.com/) For some self-managed customers, there may be restrictions on network traffic preventing the connection to Forum.
Add a network rule to allow connections to forum.appian.com on ports 80 and 443.
