KB-1261 "Invalid TimeZone" error thrown when attempting to create a new calendar

Symptoms

Creating a new calendar displays the following error:

Invalid TimeZone

Cause

A race condition can occur when configuring a new calendar, preventing the UI from storing the selected timezone.

Action

To fix this issue

  1. Go to Designer > System > Process Calendar > Set Working Time.
  2. Set the timezone for the Default Calendar to a different zone such as "(UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (America/New_York)"
  3. Save the changes to the default calendar by clicking on the Save button.
  4. Click on New Calendar... and create a new calendar with your desired timezone.
  5. A new calendar should be created. Please verify and save.
  6. From the calendar drop down, go back to Default Calendar and set the timezone back to the original zone.
  7. Save and quit.
