KB-1371 "Automatically update database schema" option is disabled in the Data Store Editor

Symptoms

Starting with Appian 16.1, designers have the ability to automatically allow database schema changes through data stores. When trying to enable this feature in a data store, users are presented with the following message:

This feature has been disabled by an administrator and will not take effect in this environment.

Cause

The appropriate setting to allow database schema changes for this data store is not enabled or has not yet been enabled.

Action

1. Open up the Admin Console as a system administrator user.
2. Go to the Deployment tab.
3. Check the box next to Allow Database Schema Changes Through Data Stores.
