KB-1407 Slowness observed in Appian Administration Console and Tempo when loaded through Internet Explorer

Symptoms

Loading the Tempo interface and the Appian Administration Console takes over 20 seconds using Internet Explorer. Loading /designer does not show any slowness.

Cause

This issue is due to a conflict between the 170929.021 CIDS definitions update on Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) and Internet Explorer 11.46.

1. Upgrade to Internet Explorer 11.47 (part of Microsoft's October 10, 2017 monthly roll-up).
2. Revert Symantec IPS definitions.
