Eml Utility

Use Case Details

This Plug-in contains Functions and Smart Services that allow users to create and read email files containing all e-mail attributes, i.e. to, cc, bcc, from, subject, body, content type, and attachments. The generated file can be read by any email client that support EML files, such as Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail. The Plug-in and a help guide are provided with this listing.

This version is for Appian 25.2 and above. Customers on a lower version of Appian that want to install this plugin can find the latest jar for Appian 25.1 and earlier version by downloading from the AppMarket.

  • Creates Email files/documents that can be read on all email clients supporting eml files.

  • Hi Team,

    We are creating an EML file with HTML text as body and the created eml file is showing the body with HTML tags instead of formatted text.

    We have found a fix for this issue: 

    We can set the Content-type header of bodyPart to text/html to display the body content as HTML formatted text instead of text with HTML tags.

    bodyPart.addHeader("Content-Type", "text/html");

    It would be convenient to have Content type of body as a separate AC input/ Parameter for setting the same in the created EML file.

    We recently upgraded our Appian environment to 22.4 and we are seeing errors while our processes are triggering 'Create Eml File'.

    Please select a value for setAvoidTxtAlternative parameter to resolve this error.

    hello we have the same issue
    We could create emails with ContentType=text/hmtl and it worked
    However, with the last version, the created emails are always ContentType=text/plain, even though we have marked ContentType=text/html.

    Any suggestion?

    We are using this plugin from long time ago and recently with the new update we have a few issues. The smart service of "createEMLfile from OOTB Poller" is not working properly. The next few lines of code are the errors we are getting each time we try to run it. Hope someone can give us some help and try to fix this problem.

     After having upgrade Appian to 23.0 version, we have replace 'createEmlFile' smart service (deprecated) with the new one 'createEmlFile from OOTB Poller' but it throws the following error:
