Workday with Groundswell

Overview

The Workday with Groundswell utility provides designers with a range of tools and documentation to jumpstart integrations with Workday and enrich their new or existing platform applications with Workday's wealth of personnel and business data. The utility supports various use cases, including:

• Approval workflows that respect changing organizational hierarchy - synchronizes supervisor and organization approvers with hierarchy changes.
• Position description management for public sector entities - enriches position management and recruiting workflows by linking job postings, supervisory organization information, hiring managers, and more.
• Work location-based routing and notifications - handles location-based events (i.e., emergencies, building management, etc.) based on staff working locations.
• Timekeeping and workforce management - tracks staff performance, manages timekeeping, and expenses.
• Learning development and management - tracks employee certifications and synchronizes them with assigned mentors.
• Project management and staffing - identifies employees with the right skills or position to align with project pipelines.

Key Features & Functionality

The application includes building blocks for enriching Appian processes with Workday records and report data through extension to the Appian data fabric, including:

• Connected system examples with OAuth and JWT to provide maximum architectural flexibility.
• Examples of synched records with relationships and aggregation fields for Workers, Organizations, and Jobs.
• Examples of data fabric consisting of Appian data, Workday integrations, and Workday synched records.
• Synchronized hierarchy of people and organizations demonstrating how to organize Appian users in alignment with Workday.
• Guide to develop inbound EIBs for larger-scale data processing or migration.
• Helper expressions for integration formatting, integration result processing, authorization, etc.
• Based primarily on REST and extensible to the large breadth of Workday APIs.
• Example process for downloading files from Workday (i.e., worker profile images).
