Is there a limit to the number of people you can send an alert to in 7.3? I have a team of 248 people I want to send an alert message to. I need a response quickly.......

The point is - we have tried to send an alert like we did in 6.6.1 and the alert is not being sent in 7.3.

I think I found the issue... If a team has groups in, the alert is not being sent.... I have a team I tried to send an alert - only 10 people - but - there were four groups part of the team. Do I also have to notify support or will someone pick this up and get a fix for this in 7.X?

This is configurable since Appian 7.2. The default is 100 to help prevent accidental mass emails.
Here are the 7.3 Docs:

What about my situation for 10 people and four groups? The alert does not send to this scenario. TU for the quick reply.

I'm assuming there are more than 90 users in those 4 groups and the default of 100 is in place, so you would need to adjust the property according to your needs.

No - only 10 total users... Made up with 4 groups.

I like the change.... I suppose a process using a send mail will allow us to get the message out.

I'd recommend narrowing it down. Some ideas.
a) Review app server log files for error messages at this time.
b) Review current parameter configuration for conf.notifications.MAX_RECIPIENTS. Perhaps it is intentionally disabled with a value of 0.
c) Using a smaller sample, see if any notifications are sent.
d) Using a smaller sample, see if any emails are sent. If notifications are sent, but not email, there is a problem in email configuration.
Basically, we would be trying to determine the common scenario or info from error logs.

Myles,
Here is what I conclude.
1. In custom.properties - you can set the limit. It is normally 100. I like this.
2. If you have a group with groups in it - even if the total number of users is less than 100 - the alert will NOT be sent.
3. I also tested sending a send mail node to the team with groups and everyone received the email. A team with 7 users and 2 groups.
4. I then thought lets test a send alert. People who were NOT in the groups did NOT get an alert or receive the email. The other people did get an alert and did get the email.
Therefore - I think you have a system issue with teams with groups related to alerts or send alerts.
