I am trying to maintain 2 different servers running different versions of an App

I am trying to maintain 2 different servers running different versions of an Application within Appian, essentially we would like to have a development server and a production server... is there any kind of automated things we can do to push updates from one server to another? I have tried using the "Applications" I created an Application that had my Process Models and Rules and then tried exporting that out and then importing it into a different server, the log states that there were no errors. I made a change to a Process Model and a Rule as well as creating a new Rule however none of the changes I made were reflected in the other server...

Robert, no link is created between the servers. If you want the changes from your development server to be reflected in your production server, you need continue exporting/importing the application. See

I did that, but my changes from the server I exported from didnt get put into the server I imported into...do I have to delete all the rules and process models on the server I am importing into to get the changes?

No the objects you import from an application should increment the version of the target objects. Check a rule for example and see if a new version has been created and it's last modified date

I have figured out what is going on...kinda...sorta...a little confused though...so when I created the Application under Process Models I added a "Process Model Folder" and under Rules I added a "Rules Folder" but I didnt add the Process Models and Rules specifically...I had assumed by adding the folder it would add all objects underneath but that does not seem to be the case... can anybody verify that this is how it is supposed to work?

Robert, what you're seeing is expected behavior. You need to add each process model and rule individually to your application package. Notice that from the Application window you can click on Add Contents to add all rules or process models from a selected folder.

Don't forget too, that adding the individual models and rules does not necessarily add their parent folder (or its parent). And, security wise, if you are locking down your app and the rule/model allows the user to run it, but the folder requires higher security then someone can't run the nested process/rule. i.e. you have to have access to a folder to run the item inside of it.
