When I did my migration from Appian 7.7 to 7.9, I lost all my users and groups from within Appian even after migrating all my old .kdb files as per
forum.appian.com/.../Migration_Guide.html
.
Does anyone have any idea what would cause this to occur?
What .kdb files hold the user data or is that stored elsewhere?

Ensure that you have correctly migrated your engine kdbs, specifically the kdbs in your Appian_Home\\server\\personalization\\gw* directories.

Missing dc*.kdb will have that effect. It's east to miss since there are 2 different engines in that collaboration folder

Also note that if what's missing is users and groups you might have missed migrating the 7.7 personalization engine from <APPIAN_HOME_7.7>\\server\\personalization\\gw1\\ag*.kdb

I got it working - I had missed copying over /server/personalization/gw1/ag*.kdb during the migration. Thank you all for the help!
