I see that if you are using Appian cloud there is a "I forgot my password link". For example Appian Forum has it. The functionality is also mentioned in the manuals for Appian cloud users.
However, if you are using a on site installation this link is not available. How do you add it? Is there a plugin?
Regards,
Nikos

I believe this functionality was removed in an earlier version of appian; I can't find any of the related JSPs in my local 16.1 installation, but I can see a reference to it in the web.xml file. That doesn't explain why it's available only on cloud - maybe support will be able to provide an explanation.

Most production deployments (on-premise or cloud) integrate with a corporate identity system like LDAP, Active Directory or SAML, which makes such lost password feature not applicable. Currently, that link is a feature only available on Appian Cloud.

Miles, this is true of many cloud deploys as well - production or otherwise - and yet they still have that option available. It seem to me the option was removed around about version 7.8; what was the reason for that and is there a way of adding the option back in? Presumably the JSPs are still available if the cloud installs use them?

Such an option never existed on-premise. We are considering adding it as an item for on-premise too.

Whilst it wasn't out-of-the-box, I'm pretty sure it was configurable - as per this post:

We are already thinking of changing the JSP mentioned on that post to accomodate for some extra security requirements. However these JSPs in the post of Phil are not the ones used in the login page.To add the "I forgot my password" functionality you need to modify the actual login page. Also this modified login page should have the capability to trigger a workflow (under which authentication?) to reset the person's password by sending the temporary password emails again to the correct email address. This to me should be functionality provided by the product or a shared component.

Is there a shared component that I could add for this functionality?
