Recommendations for administrator reporting on running process instances?

Certified Senior Developer
The /designer interface "Reports" tab has been removed in newer versions of Appian. This used to be a very quick and easy way for an administrator to create on-the-fly reports on active process instances, filter by different variables and statuses, and so forth. Is there a recommended replacement for this functionality that doesn't require building a SAIL interface?

I know that you can still customize the reports on the Processes tab to get at the data, but this is much less flexible, and it isn't a good idea to save over these base-product reports.

  • In the legacy designer interface, if you go through the Documents tab and navigate to the Process Reports folder (Default Community > System Knowledge Center > System Reports > Process Reports) and click the "view" link next to any of the system reports, the report will appear and the left-side navigation that is standard to the legacy reports tab will be displayed as well.
