How can I deactivate multiple users?

How can I deactivate multiple users in Appian 7? I have tried selecting multiple users by holding the Ctrl-Key, but the Deactivate User only deactivates the first selected user.

If this is not possible via the UI, would I be able to run a bulk delete query against the database directly?

I had a same issue when I was cleaning one of our environment.
I created a process and captured all the users in pv by using the getdistinctusers function and removed the users which I don't want to deactivate (by identifying them from a different custom group) and then deactivated them all using the Deactivate User smart service.
